• 1.How does your TPMS system work?

    Each sensor screws onto the existing valve stem of each tire monitored while the receiver remains within your view in your vehicle. Each sensor has its own individual code that is easily entered into the display;


    This display will only recognize and report data from your sensors and no other vehicle’s system. The display then highlights a tire and reports tire temperature and pressure. It will rotate around the electronic diagram on the screen and it will report temperature and pressure of each tire monitored approximately every five minutes. The system will immediately focus and report data and alarms will sound and icons will flash on the screen in the event of gradual tire deflation, rapid tire deflation, or elevated tire temperature.


    We can use the provided suction cup mounted on the windshield, side window or directly on a smooth dash. Snap the mount into the back tabs on the display to use.


    The sensor transmit tire pressure and tire temperature to the display every five minutes unless a gradual tire deflation, rapid tire deflation, or elevated tire temperature event is encountered. In such a circumstance, the reporting is continuous until tire pressure of tire temperature returns to a normal range.


    At the discretion of the system owner, the system reports: Pressure in PSI or Bar, with an accuracy of +/-3PSI or +/-0.2BAR; Temperature in Celsius, or Fahrenheit, with an accuracy of +/-3 Celsius.


    The sensor operating range of temperature is -40 through 257 degrees Fahrenheit, or -40 through 125 degrees Centigrade.


    Our senors are operational in heavy rains, snow, high humidity, and wet or icy road conditions.

  • 2.Does the vehicle have to be in motion to work?

    +

    No, the system is designed to monitor when stationary or when moving.

  • 3.What do I do if a sensor is not reading after being programmed?

    +

    Remove the sensor from the valve stem, wait 5 seconds and re-install it. This will reset the sensor;


    If the above step doesn’t work, try putting the non-working sensor on another tire where the sensor is working, Note that the sensor will still appear on the tire position you coded on the display, NOT the tire position you just put it on.


    Check the battery voltage on a sensor, The battery voltage should read over 3 volts for the sensor to function properly.


    Try re-coding the non-working sensor to the display using the procedure in the manual.

  • 4.Why does my display sometimes “drop” readings on random sensors?

    If your vehicle is more than 34’ long, you will need a powered repeater to amplify the signals from the tire sensor to the display. If you do not have a repeater, that may cause this issue while driving.


    An atomic clock or indoor/outdoor temperature gauge can also cause this issue. They emit radio frequency signals that can interfere with the sensor transmission. Try removing the batteries from the clock and the batteries from the external temperature transmitter and internal temperature display. This should solve the dropout issue. You can replace an indoor/outdoor thermometer system with one that has a 915Mhz transmitter which will not affect the sensors.

  • 1.How long do the sensor batteries last?

    On average internal sensor batteries last around 5 years;


    External sensors are user changeable and should be changed approximately every 10~12 months depending on usage.


    Longevity Tip - The sensors stop transmitting after being disconnected from the tires. If you park your commercial vehicle for extended periods of time or if you store an RV for the winter, you can remove the sensors and extend battery life. The included battery life estimate is based upon full time use.

  • 2.What kind of batteries do external sensors use?

    External sensors operate using a readily available CR1632.

  • 3.What is the accuracy of a sensor?

    +

    The sensors have a 3~4% tolerance for pressure and temperature. Also note that your pressure gauge can also be incorrect. If the sensor readout is out of specifications, you can try slightly unscrewing the valve core in your valve stem so the core plunger is better pushed by the sensor, thus allowing more air to penetrate the sensor for a more accurate readout.

  • 1.How long does the Lithium Ion battery in the display last?

    The rechargeable Li-ion battery in the receiver lasts several days if left on, or you can leave the receiver plugged in to your cigarette lighter outlet and leave it on continuously. The rechargeable battery allows you to remove the cigarette lighter cord to free up your cigarette lighter outlet while driving.

  • 2.Is the display backlight?

    Yes, the display has automatic two-stage backlight. First, it ha a light sensor that only allows the light to come on when it is needed. Second, the receiver has a vibration detector that knows when you are driving, or , more importantly, when you are parked. When parked, even in the dark, it allows the backlight to turn off, but it turns back on when you start driving.

  • 3.How do I turn the display on and off?

    The power slide switch is located on the right side of the monitor, Slide it up to turn on the display. Slide it down to turn off the display.
    Note: The side power switch will not turn off the monitor when constant power is applied to the unit.

  • 4.Why can’t I set a lower pressure than 100 PSI for the high or low pressure alarm?

    The high-pressure alarm can not go lower than the low-pressure alarm setting. If your tire pressure settings are below 100 PSI, you must first set the low-pressure alarm settings an then set the axles’ high-pressure settings. When done, be sure to press and release the “SET” button to save all the parameter settings.

  • 5.Why does my display alarm at night?

    Tire pressures will lower in the evening as the ambient air temperatures decrease. In code conditions, we suggest shutting the display off until the ambient temperature rises, or you begin driving again.

  • 6.Why is my display alarming?

    +

    Normally, the display is alarming because of the sensors are transmitting data that is out of the parameters you set up. This can happen for the following reasons:

    There is a Rapid Leak in a tire;

    The Tire Temperature is high;

    There is a High or Low Pressure reading in a tire;

    A sensor battery is almost depleted;

    The display lost the signal from a sensor;

    When the display alarms, an icon will blink near the bottom of the display screen and the tire in question will have its pressure or temperature blinking on the display screen as well, signifying a problem with that tire position;

    When the alarm sounds, you can quiet the audible alarm, for a short while, by pushing any button on the display. The visual red light will continue to blink until the issue is resolved. We recommend checking your tires to verify the issue. If everything is okay, you may have to re-set your parameters.

  • 7.What should I set my pressure and temperature parameters at in the display?

    The recommended high-pressure alarm should be set a 20% above your normal tire pressure you typically run in your tires. The low-pressure alarm should be set a 10% below your normal tire pressure. I areas of high ambient heat, like Arizona or Florida, the high-pressure alarm should be set to 25% above your normal operating pressure to avoid unnecessary alerts. For your temperature setting, the default of 1580F is save for all tires. Tires typically fail between 1700F~2000F.

  • 8.How can I turn on the display’s back-light?

    The display has a sensor that will automatically turn on the back-light when the ambient light fades. If you want to keep the back-light on, you can cover the sensor located on the bottom left hand corner of the display.

  • 1.What is a repeater?

    +

    A repeater is a device that receives data from your sensors, strengthens the signal, and pushes it forward to the display. There is no programming involved. Simply connect the repeater to a 12V power supply and it works from the moment on.

  • 2.How do I know if I need a repeater?

    +

    Having a repeater will only help you. We recommend installing one under the following conditions:

    Any vehicle 32 feet or greater in length;

    If your system is monitoring 8 or more sensors;

    Using multiple wireless devices with your vehicle;

  • 3.What is involved in installing the repeater?

    +

    Simply direct wires to a 12 volt battery or you can splice it into a 12 volt power supply within your vehicle, commercial truck, or trailer. There is no programming or any other user interaction required.


    Our repeater is fully waterproof, so it can be mounted anywhere. It is suggested that it be installed as far away from the receiver as possible to get the best range improvement. Some examples of where the repeater can be mounted are: in the engine/battery compartment of a diesel pusher coach, under the hood of your toad vehicle, under the rear of your truck, to the rear of the truck cab, or under a trailer. You can get creative. All you need is a 12 volt power lead and a ground.

  • 1.Do I need special valve stems?

    +

    No, you do not need special valve stems.

    Recommendation:

    External brass valve sensor - can be used with rubber or metal valve stems;

    External Alu valve sensor - can be used on rubber or metal valve stems, however we do recommend metal in the case;

    Flow-through sensor - we recommend installation on metal valve stems only;

  • 2.What is the device with the steel handle I see in the pictures of your systems?

    Our sensors are theft resistant because the outer sensor shell spins freely on the sensor so that it cannot be removed by hand. The sensors must be installed and removed with the wrench you see in the pictures. We include 2 of these wrenches with each system.

  • 3.How do I adjust the alert levels between towing an going solo?

    +

    With TM515 systems, you simply reset the alert levels as required.

    In standby mode, press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds, release after the beep;

    Press the SET button repeatedly to scroll through the different settings and press the + or - buttons to adjust the setting.

    Press and hold the SET button again for three seconds to save the settings and exit the settings mode.

    The new settings take immediate effect.

  • 4.My trailer is towed by different cars, can GOBIZ deal with this?

    Yes, it can, and there are a couple of options:

    If you are only monitoring the trailer tires and not the car tires, then just take the monitor to the appropriate vehicle;

    If you are monitoring both car and trailer tires, you will need one monitor for each car. You can then register the trailer tires to both monitors. If it is a TM515 system, you only need press LINK and - buttons to stop monitoring the trailer or LINK and + buttons to start monitoring it.

  • 5.How long is the warranty?

    Warranty is one year from date of purchase.

  • 6.How is temperature measured accurately?

    +

    Heat is transferred from the tire through the metal of the wheel, and the system is sufficiently sensitive to measure the change as the tires come up to normal operating temperatures, which is always several degrees above ambient.


    As the seasons change, it is useful to know the tire temperature. In cold weather, you need to have more air in the tires the get them to the correct working pressure.


    Temperature measurement is extremely useful for detecting problems with wheel bearings or with brakes binding. This can lead to tire fires or to expensive bearing damage. Some HGV users have installed our systems primarily to give warning of overheating because they can’t afford the risk of a tire fire.

  • 7.How is the signal transmitted from the sensor to the monitor?

    GOBIZ systems communicate at 433.92 MHz, and comply with strict international requirements about causing and accepting radio interference. All devices using radio frequency signals are subject to loss of signal from time and this may be more marked in certain areas, especially around military or communications installations. GOBIZ systems are optimised to overcome interference as far as possible or to minimise its impact, while providing acceptable battery life. A GOBIZ sensor measures the pressure and temperature of the tire every few seconds, while it is in motion, but unless the pressure is actually falling, a signal is transmitted to the monitor every briefly only every five or six minutes.(The exact timing varies from model to model). This is done to reduce power consumption. In the event of falling pressure, the signal is transmitted immediately and is repeated every few seconds.


    The monitor displays the latest reading it has received. So if several signals are not received due to interference, it merely means that the pressure displayed is not updated for a few cycles. In the event of falling pressure, repeated transmission means that a warning will still be given within half a minute or so.


    If the monitor does not receive signals from a sensor for an extended period, it displays an alert for that tire position. The exact period before this alert is given depends on the model.


    For large vehicles or trailers where the transmission distance is greater than about 7m for the furthest sensor to the monitor, we recommend the use of a signal booster or repeater. This is typically positioned at the front of a trailer, where it can re-transmit the signal from the tire sensors, or in the case of a motorhome towing a car, at the rear of the motorhome. No configuration is required-it simply picks up the signal and re-transmits it automatically.

  • 8.Can I get extra sensors to use one monitor for two vehicles?

    This is not really practical and the simplest way to use a single monitor on two vehicles is to switch the sensors from one vehicle to another;


    The reason is because when you register additional sensors, the new sensor replaces any existing sensor in the same location. On systems designed to monitor more than four wheels, you can register additional sensors to new positions, but if you use this for two different vehicles, you will get “no-signal” error messages from the vehicle that is not in use.

  • 9.Aren’t the sensors easily stolen?

    +

    Not really, sensors can be locked in position so that they require a tool to remove them. This prevents casual theft.

  • 10.Don’t the external sensors corrode?

    +

    Corrosion occurs mostly where different metals are in contact in the presence of an electrolyte like salty water. Some specialisted tire valve stems are made of aluminium. We do not recommend using this system with this type of valve as corrosion will occur where the different metals are in contact. Recommended precautions:

    Put a small amount of WD40 or silicone grease on the locking ring and on the threads of the valve stem. This film separates the different metals;


    Remove the sensor once a month during winter to prevent bonding;

    Remove the sensor if the vehicle is be unused for several months;

    Do not use the locking rings if the vehicle is being used in extremely salty conditions, such as a boat trailer where the wheels may be immersed in the sea.

  • 11.Do I have to remove the sensors to put air in the tires?

    Yes, but of course, you can check the tire pressures with the monitor, so it is only necessary when air needs to be added or removed;


    For heavy vehicles, we can supply systems that don’t need the tires to be removed. There use air through sensors or sensors that fit inside the tires.

  • 12.Is GOBIZ suitable for high speed applications?

    Yes, Our sensors have been actively tested at speeds up to 300km/hr. GOBIZ systems are frequently used for high performance cars such as Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin for track and race applications where high speeds are the norm.

  • 13.Tire pressures are not displayed when the car is parked. Has something gone wrong?

    +

    This is normal and nothing has gone wrong;


    The monitor and sensors go into a sleep mode to conserve battery power when the vehicle is stationary. After a few minutes of driving, the system updates fully and shows the current tire pressures;


    If the monitor does not receive a signal from a sensor for some time, the display for that particular sensor goes blank. If this occurs while the vehicle is moving, there is a problem receiving the signal from that tire which can sometimes be caused by temporary interference from surrounding radio signals.
